Lane Independent Living Alliance
For my Disability Studies internship, I had the chance to be a Peer Support Specialist Assistant. you’re probably wondering what that is… Well, it’s like a professional friend. I got to play chess, karaoke, ping-pong, and whip up some sugary coffee at a disability peer support club in Eugene, Oregon.
In the last few weeks of my most stressful term of senior year, I was asked if I would like to do their club’s first aired commercial and PSA script for the Eugene Emeralds Baseball Game. Naturally, I took the task because HELLO?! I’m a college student who can brag about making a commercial after I graduate.
There were so many hiccups along the way. I got the nastiest cold a day before the shoot. People missed their interviews. Walked from the university to downtown twice, because the camera rental was missing the tripod mounting adapter. Oh and it rained. Typical Oregon.
This is supposed to be my Portfolio, not my journal. my bad.
But, when I did start my interviews, I had to hold back the tears of these amazing people who found their home at the peer support club. I was honored to represent a great organization in the heart of Eugene, Oregon.
Copy Writing Experience
Given this opportunity from Lane Independent Living Alliance’s Peer Support Club, I was able to write their first PSA script for a local Eugene Emeralds Baseball Game.
